This book caught by attention by highlighting that good is the enemy of great. Thus challenge the norm of human thinking or what i call "myth".

The book say that good to great company focuses more on who rather than what. Good-to-great leader did not pursue an expedient " try alot of people and keep who works. " model of management. Instead, they adopted the following approach: " Let's take the time to make rigorous A+ selections right up front. If we get it right, we'll do everything we can to try to keep them on board for a long time. If we make mistake, then we'll confront that fact so that we can get on with our work and they can get on with their lives. "

It might take time to know for certain if someone is simply in the wrong seat or whether he needs to get off the bus altogether. Nonetheless, when the good-to-great leaders knew they had to make a people change, they would act.

Haha. This book is amazing. It teaches me that actually the real rich people are those people live well below their means.

Millionaires normally drive toyota and live at neighbourhood which below their means.

Cheaper neighbourhood means cheaper haircut, spirit consumed, cost of living which leads to more wealth accumulation. Wow. A brand new idea.

Millionaire don't drive a mercedes benz but a toyota. They don't buy rolex, they buy seiko. Stunning perspective.

Decamillionaires live a farm houz ? Wow. It's fact that is what millionaire actually is doing. Immune to the marketing strategy of telling you must wear this, use this or have that only you will be considered as rich, successful.

Rich people understands what is success and know that real success have no co-relation with what you consume. That's why a 90 year old retired teacher withdrawed RM 2100,000,000 from bank. Can you imagine, teacher can earn that much of money? LOL

It's because she didn't spend it in consumption of expensive non-sense goods. She understands deeply that consumption of goods have almost nothing to do with happiness.

I read 1/3 of this book and did find that this book is as interesting as the previous book, freakonomics.

In this book, author explain why some industry is dominated by female and gender discrimination issue that long built-into our society.

Females, get involve in sports and boyish. Ur pay, status and fame will significantly impact by it.

Prostituition is well dominated by females and the reason is that it pays really WELL. Female's income is normaly 1/3 from male in industry, sector or field dominated by male such as finance, manufcaturing, plantations and etc. Why work so hard? Strange but sound.

Why prostitute prosper and continue in growing? It's becoz govt kept focusing on the supply of the service instead of the demand. Reduce supply, demand constant = Increase in price (reward) and coz more people involve plus willing to supply service as prostitute.

It explain oral sex is cheaper than normal sex as it's less risky. Be a prostitute with a PIMP is better than solo. Higher pay, lower work hours. Strange but amazing findings.

You need to answer the questions. Answer honestly, even it's not what everyone wants to hear. Candor is essential to leadership whether you are running for office or running a company. Take tough questions head on. Earn the respect of your audience, even if you know they will disagree with you. People can handle the truth. Not answering the question is a surefire way to get into hot water.

Mistake 5: Forgetting the audience.
You cannot speak and be lacking in common courtesy. You meust never, ever forget your audience. Your audience has given up time to sit and hear you talk. You cannot give them back their time. You can only thank them for giving it up and make it worth their while. As a speaker, you have an obligation to use their time well.
The best way to make sure you remember the audience is to find out what they want to know. Make a call, talk to some people who know the audience, and learn how your talk could be valuable to them. Do your homework and you will be appreciated for valuing your listener's time and making the event worthwhile.

Why are we so bad at listening? A big part of the problem is just that we talk too much. We think we're being helpful by offering lengthy, in-depth explanations. This may be appropriate on some occasions, but for the most part, your audience's emotional side begins to tune out.

Let's face it: we are self-centred, self-interested, and self-absorbed. So we talk too much because we like to feel important, knowledgeable, and helpful, but it is still a subconscious focus on ourselves. Meanwhile, the attention and focus of the encounter is not on the audience, and they start to drift.

Now Consider the opposite: If you talk less and invest all of your energy and attention into making your audience feel good, important and understood - if they can feel in that moment that your world truly does revolve around them - then, my friend, you will have rock-solid rapport and lifetime loyalty. Remember, they don't need info overload. They need to feel like they are your top priority. They want to feel confidence in your ability to find solution to their challenge, the missing puzzle piece. you can't provide that elusive puzzle piece unless you know what it is, and you won't know what it is if you're not listening. It's been said that " we never learn anything with our mouth open. "
